Course No. 1 - Strategic management in science and research

Annotation

Explanation of main principles of strategic management - strategy formulation and strategy communication within an organisation. Specific attention paid to the issues of science and research strategy and innovative behaviour of an organisation. Student should understand differentiation of external and internal factors influencing organisation, understand structure of entrepreneurship and trends influencing the field in the future.

Course No. 2 - Personal effectiveness of a manager

Annotation

Identifikace rolí řídících pracovníků v organizaci. Pojetí modulu zpracováno jak v obecné rovině, tak i s přihlédnutím k potřebám pracovníků VŠ a pracovníkům v řídících funkcích organizací s VŠ spolupracujícími. Identification of the role of managers in the organization. The module is elaborated both on general level, and taking into account the needs of university staff and management employees in organizations cooperating with universities.

Course No. 3 - Reaction to the needs of innovative businesses

Annotation

After completing the course, participants should correctly understand the nature and basic attributes of innovative organizational behavior, factors affecting the behavior and role of persons who are responsible for innovation processes. Ample space will be devoted to questions of the innovation behavior.

Course No. 4 - Finance and financing research projects

Annotation

Recapitulation of current knowledge related to funding research and development projects and outline of possible approach to financial management of research and development project. The concept of the course is elaborated both on general level, and taking into account the needs of university staff and members of senior management of organizations cooperating with universities.

Course No. 5 - Human resources management in Science and Research

Annotation

Clarification of the role and tasks of a manager in leadership, evaluation and motivation; understanding motivators, system of evaluation and compensation; adoption of skills, management, and evaluation and effective motivation of subordinates.

Annotation

Clarification of the role, importance and functions of information systems in organization and management. Creating a strategic approach to the use of information technology in management and the importance of the development and use of IS/IT in an organisation.

Course No. 7 - Fundamentals and principles of innovative entrepreneurship

Annotation

The course explains the basic concepts and definitions of innovation. It deals with the life-cycle of innovation, technology transfer, creative techniques, measuring the effectiveness of scientific and technological development and innovations. It also pays attention to principles of project management and issues of innovation development through the introduction into production to marketing. The course is also aimed to provide direct and indirect support of innovative entrepreneurship.

Course No. 8 - Innovation and role of universities

Annotation

The main part of the course is focused on creation of partnerships between public research organisations and companies. Attention is also paid to improving the organization, management and increasing the efficiency of innovation processes at universities in relation to companies, research organizations, technology parks and society.

Course No. 9 - Science, research, innovations

Annotation

The course is intended for development of cooperation of science and research with industry. The course includes following parts:

  • brief description of innovation process,
  • role of science and research in innovation process,
  • innovation and environment,
  • formation of external relations, cooperation models,
  • selected support programmes for common projects of universities and businesses in the field of science, research and innovations.
Participants will gain the knowledge and skills needed to identify opportunities for the preparation and implementation of joint projects of universities and commercial entities. In practical examples there are demonstrated possibilities of cooperation between universities and businesses.

Course No. 10 - Managing scientific and research projects

Annotation

Project management is being increasingly used method for achieving objectives. But it is so complicated topic that no single interpretation can not make it trivial. This tutorial is limited in scope, and therefore does not pretend to cover the topic of project management as a whole, but is focused on acquiring specific skills and knowledge in project management. The tools, methods and techniques the trainee can then be used in the implementation of research projects. The material is designed so that the greatest possible extent affected the basic elements, terminology and methods used in project management. Educational support is in accordance with the Directive for quality management in projects ISO 10006 standards and includes project management applied the second largest company dealing with project management IPMA - International Project Management Association, who understands project management as a profession with applicable standards, knowledge and abilities. The aim of the project, under which it is prepared, is the development of cooperation of science and research with industry.

Course No. 11 - Property rights and protection of intellectual property

Annotation

Introduction to intellectual property; explanation of terminology (intellectual property, industrial property, invention patent x, UV, PV, ...), the nature and the basic rules of industrial property protection and its importance for research and development; brief overview of an industrial property, copyright law, the rights and obligations of employees and employers; government authorities for the protection of industrial property, patent attorneys; invention - the conditions of patentability, patent protection abroad, utility model, industrial designs, topographies of semiconductor products, trademarks, and the Office of Industrial Property - the services provided, information about the websites IPO; research - their meaning and importance, general search rules, MPT sorting options IPO, options agents, patent literature, the industrial property information.

Course No. 12 - System of support of scientific and research projects

Annotation

The course is intended for development of cooperation of science and research with industry. The module is designed to submit candidate information systems and tools support research and development projects. Course content focuses on:

  • support framework, strategic documents,
  • providing basic orientation in European and national programmes of financial support of science and research,
  • providing information on th inforastructure of regional, national and international organisations,
  • infrastructure for support of scientific and research projects.
Participants will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare and implement projects with the support of financial instruments of the relevant support programs. In practical examples of specific projects there are demonstrated possibilities of cooperation between universities and businesses.

Course No. 13 - Preparation of presentation, argumentation

Annotation

Focus on preparation of a presentation, presentation and concluding evaluation of presentation. Participants get acknowledged with the methods helping to analyze a problem, prepare the structure of presentation so that it is interesting and engaging. The preparation and presentation we use the most common programme PowerPoint, comment on the use of flipchart, know the advantages and disadvantages of lecterns and other technical equipment. The presentation will be introduced as a "service", "product" or if you want a product that is primarily determined by the customer, in this case the audience, whose needs the presentation must address and meet at the end. A comprehensive look into the details of development and introduction of practical examples, as well as examples of best practice will lead us to create custom, original presentations. In this course we will focus on personality of presenter, the nucleus of each presentation. We must realize that when you sell a presentation, you mainly sell yourself and if the audience does not accept us, they probably will not accept either our presentation, our arguments and the purpose of our presentation is likely to be thwarted.

Course No. 14 - Development of managerial skills

Annotation

The course focuses on selected managerial skills in managing people, which are currently very topical. Participants of the e-learning course learn the methods of coaching and leading working groups and teams. Coaching is based on a combination of different techniques and aims to improve and optimize the performance of the worker. This part discusses the personality and role of a successful coach, coaching models and the basics of the "systemic" coaching. Management of working groups and teams includes team building, team role typology and techniques of cooperation. The part of managing meetings deals with various types of meetings and their preparation, organization, self-management, but also the role of the participants and not least the role of facilitator. The aim of the course is to extend the skills of participants in coaching and management working groups in terms of their application in industrial enterprises and scientific research field. The course builds on the outcomes of other courses and is completed by elaboration of a case study, to which the individual subtasks are directed.

Course No. 15 - Development of communication skills

Annotation

The course will acknowledge you with rhetorics, verbal communication as essential means of communication, and also with non-verbal communication, gestures, postures, attitude, etc. We will also focus on the phenomena associated with our public communication - stage fright, worry, fear and their reduction and elimination. Communication skills are not just about communication, about the very presentation or speech, but also the invention, the idea, the theme of communication, as well as the composition and especially the person of the speaker, the communicator, if you will, about his/her attitude, tact, serenity, but also about the previously mentioned stage-fright or the ability to establish a contact, empathy and others. In addition to communication, culture of speach, communication conflicts and barriers these are other topics which will be covered in the course.
